Ceramic space heaters vary in size and height and the method in which the heat is
distributed.

Small ceramic heaters that do not oscillate (move side to side or in a wave pattern) are
best for keeping your legs and feet warm. Some models, like the Delonghi DCH1030 and
the Honeywell HZ-315 are capable of quickly heating a medium sized bedroom or bathroom.

Ceramic tower heaters will heat more of you because the unit is taller.

Oscillating ceramic heaters promote a more even distribution of the heat owing to the side
to side motion of the fan.

Pedestal ceramic heaters bring the heat to "seat height."

Ceramic room heaters are an alternative to the traditional oil-filled heater. The new ceramic
room heaters can be placed safely at the wall for out of the way full room comfort.

Most ceramic heaters are available with dual heat settings or a thermostat to efficiently
regulate power consumption.

For maximum safety, always check to make sure the ceramic space heater you purchase
meets these requirements:

  • Automatically shuts off when tipped over.

  • Automatically shuts off when over heated.

  • Connects to the wall socket with a minimum 14 gauge power cord.

If your small space heater is running on the same electrical circuit as your computer, plug
the space heater into a separate
power strip/surge protector.

Ceramic space heaters make
efficient use of electricity and cost
up to 40% less than an electric
heating system or oil/gas heating
systems with room by room control.

Ceramic radiant heat is an efficient
use of electricity. Since it heats
objects rather than the air, you are
warmer sooner and at lower
temperature settings.

The ceramic heating elements allow
it to operate at a temperature
below the ignition point of most
home materials including tissue
paper.
